About the Artist

  “Welcome! I’m so glad you found my shop. I’m Mary, a ceramic artist living just outside Seattle, Washington, and I can’t wait to share my handmade creations with you.

My journey with ceramics started somewhat unexpectedly in my senior year at Messiah University in Pennsylvania. After just two ceramic classes, I was hooked, and by the time I graduated in 2021 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, I knew ceramics was my calling. What began as a curious exploration soon became a full-fledged passion. After months of designing, I decided to open my own studio to share the beauty of handmade pottery with others.

My love for tea is what inspired me to focus on mugs. There’s something special about enjoying your favorite beverage from a mug that feels personal and unique. Every mug I make is designed to create a moment of calm – a perfect companion for your morning ritual or afternoon break.

Nature plays a big role in my work, too. Whether it’s the colors of the changing seasons or the shapes of plants, I draw inspiration from the natural world around me. And of course, my two adorable cats, who are often curled up nearby as I work, are a playful reminder to embrace the simple joys in life.

Each piece I create is handmade with care, using a mix of wheel throwing and hand-building techniques. I enjoy experimenting with textures and colors to make every mug as unique as the person who will hold it. One of my favorite touches is the use of decals – my own hand-drawn designs transferred onto the ceramic, making each piece a true work of art.
